Weblink installation for IE

Appulate Weblink™ is a tool installed as a plug-in to your web browser and used to automatically fill out the application forms on carriers’ websites with the data previously entered or uploaded in the Appulate system. 

This article provides information on how to install Appulate Weblink™ and the required software.

Each member of your company can install Weblink individually on their computer, or the system administrator of your company can centrally deliver it to all client computers of your network.

If you are using Citrix or a remote server, please contact your IT department to install Weblink.

System requirements

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 11
  • Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2008

Individual installation

1. On the Tools > Appulate Weblink page, click the Download Weblink button to launch the Appulate Weblink Setup wizard.

Note: You must have admin rights on your computer.

2. In the security warning dialog (if it appears), click Yes or Run.

3. On the Welcome to the Appulate Weblink Setup Wizard page, click Next.

4. On the End-User License Agreement page, accept the conditions of the Appulate Weblink License Agreement, select the I accept the terms in the License Agreement check box, and click Next.

5. On the Ready to install Appulate Weblink page, click Install.

6. In a security warning dialog box (if it appears), click Yes. Wait until the installation process is complete.

7. On the Completed the Appulate Weblink Setup Wizard page, click Finish.

Centralized MSI deployment through GPO

1. On the Appulate Weblink page, click Download Weblink MSI Package to download the Appulate Weblink MSI package.

2. Create a distribution point.

  • Log in to the server as an Administrator user.
  • Create a shared network folder.
  • Move the MSI package to this folder.

3. Create a Group Policy object.

  • On the Start menu, click Programs, select Administrative Tools and select Active Directory Users and Computers.
  • In the console tree, right-click your domain name and then click Properties.
  • On the Group Policy tab, click New.
  • Enter the name of the policy (for example, "AppulateWeblink").
  • Click Properties.
  • On the Security tab, select the Apply Group Policy checkbox only for the groups to which you want to apply this policy.

4. Assign an MSI package.

  • On the Start menu, click Programs, select Administrative Tools and select Active Directory Users and Computers.
  • In the console tree, right-click your domain name and then click Properties.
  • On the Group Policy tab, click the object you have created and click Edit.
  • Under Computer Configuration, expand Software Settings.
  • Right-click Software Installation and then click New.
  • Click Package.
  • In the Open dialog box, type the full path to the MSI package.
  • Click the Open button, click Assigned, and then click OK (the package will be added to the right pane of the “Group Policy” window).

When the client computers start, the assigned MSI package will be installed automatically.
